“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots GROW down into Him and let your lives be built up in Him. Then your faith will GROW strong in the truth.” (NLT) Colossians 2:7
Our Call as Christians is to grow as followers of Christ. This growth is called discipleship. Disciple means “to learn.” As followers of Christ, we are to be learners His Word so that we can live out His truth. God not only saved us for someday, for eternity, but for today. In our daily life, we are called to walk in new life. Our identity is in Christ thus our lives should be changed by Him and should reflect Him. Salvation must be followed by transformation, where we are changed in our character, attitides and actions. We grow to reflect the character and nature of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of His Word. A Christian who is not growing is one who is not living the call and purpose of his or her new life in Christ.
At Trinity, we seek intentional discipleship through our demographic ministries and through our Midweek EQUIP Ministry. EQUIP Courses are discipleship studies which are offered in the Spring and Fall semesters at 6:30pm on Wednesday’s.
